The Super Eagles of Nigeria Overcame a spirited Zambian team yesterday in Uyo to clinch their place in the showdown next year with a game to spare. The Super Eagles were nervy as the game began as Zambians mounted enormous pressure on the Nigerians but they grew into the game with time and it was until the 2nd half that the Super sub "Alex Iwobi" gave the super eagles the lead which sparked the nation into a frenzy. Nigeria failed to get the job in Cameroon in their previous match as the goalkeeper commited a blunder which meant the Super Eagles had to wait for another opportunity. It was an end to end encounter with both strikers missing good chances at either end of goal.
The super eagles, have received nation-wide messages from several individuals and the win also sent Twitter and other social media platforms into a meltdown as viewers sent in messages for the players. The goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa would continue to build on this opportunity and seal a place for the next year's showdown.
The right back Shehu Abdulahi earned the man of the match award and was given 1m naira in addition with 10 bags of rice to gift to any charity of his choice courtsey of Tropical General investmens (TGI) Group.
